Knowledge sharing
The SICEA Project has several activities, including, facilitating direct collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and network-building through in-person or online engagement. The peer exchange programme enables chapter members to engage with another chapter by supporting short in-person stays or dedicated online exchanges, fostering effective expertise sharing and the development of stronger anti-corruption research.
It was in this context that the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and Transparency International Uganda (TIU) co-hosted the SICEA Chapters' Gathering Uganda 2026 which took place in Kampala, Uganda, from 27 April to 1 May 2026, and brought together participants from eleven (11) chapters representing the project’s four (4) regional hubs, as well as TI-S staff.
Members of the West Africa Hub participated actively in this event, including representatives from TI-Ghana, TI-Liberia, TI-Sierra Leone, and ANCE-Togo.
The gathering combined several complementary elements: the regional launch of the East African Right to Information Report and Policy Brief, engagement with selected stakeholders in Uganda, peer-to-peer learning among Chapters, and discussions on subregional advocacy priorities. The aim was to strengthen practical learning, support coordination across Chapters, and help connect national advocacy experience with wider regional and subregional efforts.
